TREE PLANTING

The right tree, in the right place, planted to last 50 years. We pick the species before we dig the hole.

The service

WHAT WE DO, IN DETAIL.

Most trees that die young were badly chosen or badly planted: too deep, circling roots, species unsuited to the soil or space. We assess your lot (sun, drainage, proximity to foundations and wires), recommend hardy species suited to the South Shore climate, and plant by the book — root flare exposed, wide hole, staked as needed.

    Frequently asked questions

    TREE PLANTING — YOUR QUESTIONS.

Which species for a small suburban lot?
Trees with non-invasive roots and a controlled mature size: serviceberry, Japanese lilac, Amur maple, certain columnar oaks. We avoid willows, poplars, and silver maples near foundations and drains.
    When to plant?
Spring (after thaw) and fall (Sept–Oct) are the best windows: the tree roots in without heat stress. We can plant in summer with tighter watering follow-up.
    Is the tree guaranteed?
We guarantee the planting itself (technique, depth, staking). Survival also depends on the watering you provide the first year — we give you clear instructions to stack the odds in your favor.
